Richard, recovery from drugs with ibogaine
Richard, recovery from drugs with ibogaine
Transcript – Richard, recovery from drugs with ibogaine
Q. 00:15 What’s your name and where do you come from?
Ricardas, and I come from Lithuania.
Q. 00:21 What were you addicted to?
I basically had arthritis pain and I was prescribed dihydrocodeine. After, my tolerance increased, I needed more and more for pain relief. So, they put me on methadone when I was taking loads of dihydrocodeine tablets. Within a year, I lost all my teeth from the methadone. So, it’s just terrible!
Q. 00:52 How was life for you a few months ago?
It was miserable! Really bad! I didn’t want to live anymore at some point.
Q. 01:02 How did you hear about Ibogaine?
I found it somewhere on PubMed.
Q. 01:09 Why did you choose Tabula Rasa Retreat?
Because it’s located in Europe and its south, it’s warmer. So that’s why I chose it.
Q. 01:19 Have you attended any other rehabs?
I have been to not similar places, but to places in Lithuania and the UK, and they just want you to stay on methadone. That’s it.
Q. 01:35 What Was your experience like arriving here?
Well when I arrived here, it seemed like I was in heaven. You now… the birds singing and so on… the horses. It looked beautiful.
Q. 01:50 How was your Ibogaine experience?
Well my first Ibogaine experience was the most intense. I did see visions. I did see only positive things. Well, it also made me sad the next day, but I became more empathic toward others. It really changed my way of thinking.
Q. 02:19 Can you tell us a little more about your visions?
I started seeing myself in my mother womb, and I saw myself growing up. I remembered everything. I was seeing positive things and well… as I said, I became more empathic toward others. I mean, ibogaine, it does have loads of side effects. Now I am micro dosing it and my ears are ringing. So, it is way much better than have a full blown withdrawal.
Q. 03:00 What are the chances of you relapsing?
I think zero. I don’t crave for drugs.
Q. 03:09 What are your thoughts on our supporting therapies?
Well, It’s really helpful. I would never have be able to stand such a severe withdrawal without the help of Andy, Binod and Ricardo. They really helped me to go through it.
Q. 03:31 How do you feel about your future?
I feel positive. I feel clean, and I’m happy about this. I’ll be able to be a normal father to my son. That’s very important.
Q. 04:48 Any final thoughts?
Well, I’d say ibogaine it’s not for everyone. First of all you cannot have any heart conditions at all.
It is cardio toxic and you must be under supervision. Someone has to monitor your heart during the treatment. So they know how you react to it. Also you have to set your intentions. It’s not a cure for addiction at all. You really have to want it and make the most of the time while you’re on the iboga to work on yourself constantly.
Disclaimer: Ibogaine is a potentially illegal substance (often sits in a grey area of the law), and we do not encourage or condone the use of this substance where it is against the law. However, we accept that illegal drug use occurs, and believe that offering responsible harm reduction information and solutions is imperative to keeping people safe. For that reason, we share client testimonials, post treatment with Tabula Rasa Retreat, to show that there are ‘other ways’ to tackle addiction and spiritual malaise. We consider ibogaine as a very useful ‘tool’ in the recovery toolbox. Ibogaine is a safe option, if used responsibly, and where strict safety protocols are followed.
You are safe with us.
