Safe Medical Setting

Safe Medical Setting

Undoubtedly, using ibogaine as a form of medicine carries some risks, and therefore, we provide a safe medical setting. According to statistics, there has been a significant number of deaths related to ibogaine in recent years, with a mortality rate of one death per 427 treatment cases. However, it is worth noting that ibogaine has a lower mortality rate than methadone, which has a rate of one death per 364 treatment episodes.

It is crucial to emphasize that of the recorded ibogaine-related fatalities, most were preventable and occurred mainly due to the lack of proper safety protocols. At Tabula Rasa Retreat™, we adopt a distinct approach compared to other ibogaine clinics. Our medical team, led by a physician, closely supervises the entire treatment process, and we maintain a one-to-one nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure maximum safety.

Because we have done our research, we also know that the majority of ibogaine-related fatalities also occur due to pre-existing cardiac or liver issues.

As part of our safe medical setting, we require you to provide a complete medical history and undergo a full set of laboratory tests, including a full blood panel, liver function tests, ECG, among others.

Moreover, for the duration of the ibogaine treatment, we continually monitor our patients with an ECG machine during treatment, and all our medical team are ACLS certified by the American Heart Association.

Our primary objective is to ensure the safety of our patients, and we take all necessary measures to ensure that our protocols are followed to the highest standard, which is something we never compromise on.

In our opinion, providing a radical, life-changing treatment for addiction and mental health without earning our clients’ full confidence in our approach would be pointless. Because we are fully prepared, we keep you health and safety at the forefront of everything we do.
